About

Designingand building at the edge of network and intelligence

I work where design, code, and infrastructure meet — turning ambiguous problems into products people can actually use.

I'm Fajar, a designer and developer based in Indonesia. My work sits at an unusual intersection: I design interfaces, write the front-end that ships them, and then build the network and IoT infrastructure they run on. That range means I can take an idea from a blank canvas through to a device on a wall that's reporting live data.

I started in networking — configuring routers, deploying fibre, standing up CCTV and Starlink links in places where connectivity is genuinely hard. That work taught me to care about reliability before elegance. Over time I moved toward building the software layer on top: dashboards, monitoring tools, and the interfaces that make infrastructure legible to the people operating it.

These days I spend most of my time in the modern web stack — TypeScript, React, Next.js — and increasingly with AI tooling as part of the build process rather than a novelty. I use it to move faster on the parts of a project that are mechanical, so more of my attention goes to the parts that need judgement.

Capabilities

Five disciplines, one toolkit

Design, code, AI, networking, and IoT. The range is deliberate — it means a project can go from interface to installed hardware without changing hands.

A path through the stack

From field installation to full-stack product work — each role added a layer rather than replacing the last.

  1. 2024 — PresentCurrentIndonesia

    IoT & Network Engineer

    Project IoT BGN — PERURI

Deployed and configured IoT device networks for a national-scale monitoring programme, working alongside PERURI as the delivery partner.

    • Configured and commissioned IoT device fleets across multiple sites, including sensor calibration and gateway provisioning.
    • Built the network layer — addressing, DHCP scoping, and segmented access — so devices report reliably over constrained links.
    • Documented deployment procedures that reduced on-site setup time for subsequent batches.

  2. 2022 — 2024Indonesia

    Network & Infrastructure Technician

    PT Fiber Star

Installed, configured, and maintained fibre and wireless connectivity for residential and business customers.

    • Configured routers, switches, and access points — including Mikrotik routing, NAT, and firewall rules.
    • Diagnosed connectivity faults end-to-end, from physical layer through to customer premises equipment.
    • Deployed CCTV and Starlink installations in locations without reliable terrestrial coverage.

    IT Support & Deployment

    PT Darun Raynor Istafajar

Handled Windows deployment, endpoint configuration, and day-to-day IT support across the organisation.

    • Standardised Windows deployment images, cutting per-machine setup time significantly.
    • Maintained local network services including file sharing, printing, and DHCP.
    • Provided first-line support and hardware troubleshooting for staff endpoints.

    Operations Staff

    J&T Express

Logistics operations role — where the discipline around process, accuracy, and working under volume pressure started.

    • Handled high-volume parcel processing with a focus on accuracy and turnaround time.
    • Coordinated with couriers and sorting teams to resolve exceptions in the delivery pipeline.
