Overview
Designed and deployed a CCTV system across several locations, with an emphasis on secure remote access rather than simply exposing camera streams to the internet.
01The problem
The organisation needed remote visibility across sites, but the initial approach — port-forwarding cameras directly — was insecure and unreliable.
02The solution
Segmented cameras onto an isolated VLAN with no direct internet exposure, placed recording and access behind a controlled gateway, and set a retention policy matched to actual requirements. Remote viewing works through an authenticated path rather than open ports.
